Explanatory note on recent changes in the use of cookies

Following the entry into force of the RGPD on 25 May 2018, the CNIL has strengthened its requirements for the collection and validity of consent in relation to cookies.

From now on, simply continuing to browse a website can no longer reflect valid consent from the user to the deposit of cookies.

It is compulsory to obtain the Internet user’s consent before installing or reading cookies, except in the case of so-called ‘technical’ or ‘functional’ cookies (in this case, cookies that retain the choice expressed by users on the deposit of cookies).

Internet users must choose freely and with the same degree of simplicity whether to accept or reject all or some of the cookies. They may also make no choice and delay their decision. In the latter case, they may be asked to do so again as soon as they connect to your website or mobile application, as long as they do not make a choice.

They must also be able to modify their choices regarding the use of cookies at any time.
